There is little change in particle size before and after thermal storage.

In recent years, the rapid development of nanotechnology has opened up new application prospects for modern plant protection. Nanoscale materials have many new physical and chemical properties due to their small size and unique structure, such as large specific surface area, high reactivity, small size effects, and quantum effects.

The use of nanomaterials and technology to construct nano drug delivery systems can effectively improve pesticide utilization, reduce pesticide residues and environmental pollution.

At present, the nano pesticide products that have been extensively researched in the market and are closest to industrialization are nano emulsions, nano microcapsules, and nano suspensions. Nano emulsions use macromolecular emulsifiers to uniformly disperse fat soluble drugs into aqueous solutions to form uniform and transparent nano lotion.

Nano microcapsules are drug loading systems constructed by interfacial polymerization, emulsion polymerization and in-situ polymerization using special structures or high molecular substances.

Nanosuspensions are made by using medium grinding or crystal nucleus precipitation methods to directly nanoparticle size insoluble pesticides, which can improve dispersion, dissolution rate, and permeability, and are easy to prepare on a large scale.

Unkel R&D Center attempted to develop a 200g/L Chlorantraniliprole nanosuspension using a medium grinding method, using macromolecular special structure dispersants such as LUCRAMUL AG 483 and LUACRAMUL GCP 01, wetting agent LUACRAMUL SP 102, and some functional additives to obtain a stable 200g/L Chlorantraniliprole nanosuspension.

During the process, 0.3mm zirconium beads were used, with a grinding time of 30 minutes. The particle size is D50=220nm. After filtration, xanthan gum (2%) was added. The sample was placed in a 54 ℃ oven for 14 days, and no sedimentation was found. The particle size remained stable at D50=240nm, indicating stable thermal storage of the formula. Take 0.5g of the prepared sample and add it dropwise to 100ml water, and the solution shows obvious blue light. Due to its small particle size and less obvious settling, the amount of thickener used can be less than that of conventional suspension.

The formula of 200g/L Chlorantraniliprole Nanosuspension developed by Unkel R&D Center has the following characteristics:

1.The amount of dispersant used is less, and the overall amount of additives does not exceed 10%, with no significant increase in cost compared to conventional suspension

2.The product is more stable, with little change in particle size before and after thermal storage;

3.The system can be stabilized by using conventional thickeners.
